  About the presenter
Michelle Hutchison Master Ed; PostGradDip ES(LD); GradDip Special Ed; DipTeach (Prim).
 has extensive academic qualifications in the field of learning difficulties. She has been able to apply this specialist knowledge in her practical experience as a teacher for two decades.
Be inspired by Michelle's story of overcoming the learning difficulty, dyslexia. "I am dyslexic. At school, I remember feeling as though I was drowning in a sea of letters that I didn't understand."
Michelle has engineered her professional life to improve the outcomes for individuals with dyslexia and learning difficulties. With her trademark passion and energy, Michelle doesn't just teach - she inspires!

How to Effectively Teach within Open Learning Spaces
with Pam Burton

This workshop will focus on practical ways to ensure that teachers and students are able to effectively work and learn together in open learning spaces.

Key areas that will be addressed include:
  • Effectively building teacher teams
  • Developing appropriate learning behaviours
  • Grouping students according to their learning needs
  • Empowering students to be confident and motivated learners
  • Effective use of open learning spaces
The place of technology in an open learning space

The workshop will also cover a brief overview of the Australian Curriculum.  The similarities and differences between the Australian Curriculum and VELS.

Pam Burton’s interest, experience and expertise in educating students at all levels is reflected in her broad teaching and consultancy career. She is a celebrated presenter and author who works extensively with students, teachers and organisations in the areas of leadership, brain compatible learning, boys’ education, literacy, gifted education, creative and critical thinking, learning styles, multiple intelligences and cooperative learning. She has been a lecturer in Gifted Education at Deakin University, a presenter in the Bright Sparks and Women in Leadership programs and numerous other Programs at Deakin University.

Monet Comes to the NGV

Free online Professional Learning sessions for primary art and classroom teachers presenting a range of art and cross-curricular learning activities for the classroom, inspired by the National Gallery of Victoria’s Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition, Monet’s Garden.
Participating in these sessions is easy.  All that is required is a computer with an internet connection and audio and microphone connection.
